I stared at this spot for a while believing it to be the perfect place, without realising I was actually staring at a Lizard. Well disguised at a distance and not moving. Movement, any, gives the game away. Sighting Number Eighteen (Wildmoorstone): July 26th. 2024 |

Sighting (location) Number 19 on the East side of the Fernilee Reservoir after years of scanning the walls and logs. Surprisingly exposed on a bench and at risk of predation. They had to be there and remember my aphorism "if a species exists anywhere in a habitat then they are everywhere in that habitat". This more or less completes the set for me in the main part of the Goyt. Lizard map now updated. Now need to look beyond at each end. I already have records in Wildboarclough so it is only a matter of time: August 3rd. 2024 |

Sighting (location) Number 20: A poor shot but this juvenile lizard was wedged deep in a crevice in the drystone wall where I normally sit for a break on Route 6 East of the Errwood. I was obliged to use the 16mm wide angle on crop factor 1.6 on my landscape camera as I had no macro lens. I only saw it from above as the tip of tail was poking out. To see the impossible context, look at the next image to find the lizard: August 17th. 2024. |

Sighting (location) Number 20 and a context shot. The lens was only about 100mm from the crevice when I took the shot. I packed up and left without disturbing the lizard: August 17th. 2024. |
