This route is delightful at any time of the year and an ideal route to look for landscape photography opportunities. The descent into the Clough starts after a short stride from The Tors (100 metres). It is an ideal short cut if on one of the longer routes and someone gets tired. As soon as you hit the Clough you are sheltered from the weather extremes that occur at The Tors. Exactly 973 metres from Shining Tor if using GPS. Opposite the track there is nil evidence of drystone wall for around 10 meters. There is also an arrow carved into a wooden post as a means of double checking the route jumping off point.
